The Great Baddow Community Care Group helps people in the village by transporting them to hospitals, clinics and doctors surgeries when they are in need of transport because they are elderly or infirm.
This service is run by our coordinator, who is in contact with the local surgeries, and freely provided by volunteers using their own cars.
A Luncheon Club is also run by volunteers each Tuesday at the United Reformed Church in the High Street, providing a cooked meal for up to 35 members who have been recommended to the Club by local doctors.
However, as with all voluntary services, we are constrained by the help we can give to other less able than ourselves by the number of volunteers prepared to give a little of their time to the community. Can you help Community Care? Could you spare a couple of hours now and again to fetch a prescription for someone living nearby? Could you drive someone to a doctor’s appointment?
The Group needs more volunteers to help others in our village – would you consider adding your name to our confidential list of caring people who have volunteered their services? If you can help or would like more information without committing yourself please contact :
