"In Great Baddow" is all about the business and community life of the village. It aims to be the central collection point for all the information that you need to enjoy living and/or working here. If you think that we've missed something important, please get in touch.
If you would like us to create, maintain and promote a webpage for your business on the site, then there is a small annual charge of £25 (less than advertising in a newsagent's window!) to help offset our costs. You can write the content (max 500 words) and supply any logos or photos, or we can help you with any of these. Each of these businesses will feature as a Site Sponsor on all our pages for a period (at least 3 months generally) in each year that they continue to contribute. Sponsors are also highlighted in our business index, are able to advertise their job vacancies on our home page and ask for their special events to be included in the diary.
This website has been created and is maintained by a couple of local village residents, Maurice Crockard and Dave Haddington. It replaces the Great Baddow On-line website, which ceased being on-line in January 2011. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the creator and manager of that website, Chris Harvey, who spent 5 years collecting, collating and writing the content, supplementing it with many of his own photos. Chris has generously donated his time and existing web content to help us get "In Great Baddow" up and running. We are also grateful to Allen Buckroyd, author of "Great Baddow - An Oral History", and Chris Shaw, Chair of the Great Baddow Parish Council for their support.
