Tyrells Way Switched On
Despite the cold weather, a large and enthusiastic crowd turned out yesterday (2nd December) for the official switching on of the Christmas lights on Tyrells Way. The switching on was preceded by carol singing and accompanied by the consumption of Christmas goodies and mulled wine. A short while later Father Christmas came to visit on his illuminated, musical sleigh and delighted the many children who had turned up.
Please let us know if you've lit up your street and we'll include a photo here.

King's Head to Re-open on 1st December
InGreatBaddow has been given a sneak preview of the menu (we'll share it with you here very soon) and it certainly looks tempting with a range of meals available from 11am - 7pm every day at attractive prices for the cost-conscious.
If the food isn't enough to tempt you in, how about 3 TV's showing live sports? Or free wi-fi? How about a free taxi service into Chelmsford City Centre at 10.30pm? Throw in a pool table and team and a semi-pro darts team and suitable facilities and you have a pub that must be worth visting in the heart of the village .
Good luck to Gary and the team and let's hope they're with us for many years to come!

Boycie & Serrell Go Antique Road Tripping at A Little Bazaar
They spent a couple of hours in A Little Bazaar on Maldon Road (one of our site sponsors), after Boycie arrived at the shop in an old Ford Cortina. Paul Goodman, the owner of A Little Bazaar, was disappointed that they ignored the quality items in the shop and went instead for a chipped china plate, a pair of sexy stripper shoes and an old railway sign. (So the better quality bargains are still available, if you know what to look for!) Afterwards Boycie joined Paul and the girls for tea and pastries.
Meanwhile Boycie's TV wife Marlene (Sue Holderness) was joined by Charlie Hanson for her shopping trip to Baddow Antiques Centre at The Bringey. Ron East from tne Centre was delighted with their visit and the items that they bought.
The date for the show going on air isn't yet known but is thought to be in November to coincide with the Children in Need appeal

King's Head Closes Again
Sadly the King's Head in Maldon Road is again looking for new tenants having closed it's doors once more earlier this month. Since Dave and Sally Trigg left in 2009, the pub has struggled to regain its former popularity. Perhaps someone with flair and entrepeneurial skills in the village will be inspired to take it on and restore it to its former glory. If so, take a look at www.enterpriseinns.com .
